Environmental Performance Index 2016: Italy ranks at 29 out of 180 countries

February 4, 2016

The Environmental Performance Index (EPI), calculated by the US Yale University and Columbia University in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, ranks how well countries perform on environmental issues.

The environmental sustainability index is grounded on 20 diffrent indicators grouped into two main areas: human health and ecosystem protection. It allows to understand how and in what context each country is committed to protecting the environment.

In the TopThree for 2016 there are three European countries, namely Finland, Iceland and Sweden, whilst Italy ranks at 29 out of 180 and loses other positions in respect to its ranking in 2012 when it was in the TopTen.
