Maria Pia is Senior Legal Advisor at R&P Legal and Tax supporting clients in the integration of sustainability objectives in corporate structures through the implementation of sustainability models, the obtainment of the qualification of Benefit Corporation, the carrying out of ESG/Human Rights due diligence activities, the drafting of corporate policies and ethical codes, and contracts. She offers assistance on sustainable finance themes, especially with regard to SFDR regulations and Taxonomy. Furthermore, she supports enterprises in the activities relating to social reporting and the measurment of ESG impacts.

She has been awarded a PhD in Law and Economics at Rotterdam University and a LL.M. in Law and Economics at the University of Bologna and the University of Hamburg.

Maria Pia has worked in London for the International Bar Association Legal Policy and Research Unit, where she was head of the ESG, business and human rights and sustainability area.

She is a member of the board of the Compliance Magazine (Tijdschrift voor Compliance) journal, dedicated to the themes of corporate compliance, business ethics and ESG. She collaborates as guest lecturer with the Queen Mary University of London, where she teaches business and human rights in the context for the LL.M. in Transnational Law and Governance. She also is Officer of the International Bar Association’s Business Human Rights Committee.

 

Maria Pia is an Italian native speaker and she is fluent in English.
