On March 23, 2016 the French National Assembly adopted an innovative Bill on the so-called "duty of care" of corporations, in order to prevent Human Rights violations caused by business activity.
The legislative proposal has been strongly supported by some French NGOs - such as, among others, Sherpa, Amnesty International and Friends of the Earth - and it is part of an emerging commitment of EU countries to promote the implementation of a Human Rights Due Diligence process among their enterprises.
